The Retail Industry in India is expected to be the second largest employer after agriculture. However, given its nascency, Indian retail faces a lack of experienced professionals and of suitable training programs. Though a number of institutes have launched retail courses in recent years they are handicapped by a lack of faculty with expertise in this subject.

The Retail Edge online program has been designed meet this gap. It is a response to inquiries from professionals who want to upgrade their knowledge about the sector. This includes, amongst others, export professionals who have entered the retail market, retail professionals who want to upgrade, and new entrants interested in the sector.

Simran Singh the program designer and key faculty, has worked with the retail industry for over 20 years and has been teaching Advanced Retailing at NIFT Delhi for the last decade. She has conducted a number of industry workshops on different aspects of Retailing. This course has been developed as a result of her years of professional and academic experience and exposure. The course combines an Indian context with international best practices.
